Thrift Store Reports To: Thrift Store Manager FLSA: Non-Exempt
Summary The Assistant Store Manager supports the daily operations
of the Life Unlimited Thrift Store by providing leadership to staff
and volunteers, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining
merchandising standards, and overseeing donation processing and
inventory flow. This role serves as the acting manager in the Store
Program Manager?s absence and ensures the store environment
reflects Life Unlimited? s mission. Essential Functions &
Responsibilities ? Assist Store Manager in supervising day-to-day
store operations, including opening and closing procedures. ?
Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to staff,
volunteers, and temporary workers. ? Ensure a welcoming environment
for customers and donors. ? Train team members in customer service,
store policies, and operational procedures. ? Oversee merchandise
flow from donation intake to pricing, staging, and sales floor
placement. ? Maintain visual merchandising standards and store
cleanliness. ? Support loss prevention practices and store
security. ? Assist with accurate cash handling, drawer audits,
deposit preparation, and reporting. ? Help drive store performance
using sales and productivity metrics. ? Support volunteer
engagement and scheduling. ? Maintain compliance with safety
procedures and operational standards. ? All Other Duties as
Assigned Physical Expectations ? This position requires extended
periods of walking and standing with some periods of sitting which
is dependent upon the needs and activities of the individuals
supported. It may require light to heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds
independently, and occasional stooping, kneeling, bending, and/or
climbing stairs depending on the needs of the individual supported.
? While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to stand. ? The noise level in the work
environment is typically moderate to high with high levels of
distraction. QUALIFICATIONS ? High school diploma or equivalent
required; further education preferred. ? 2 years of retail or
supervisory experience. ? Strong leadership, communication, and
customer service skills. ? Ability to multitask and work in a
fast-paced environment. ? Computer proficiency, including Microsoft
Office. ? Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. ?
Must have valid driver?s license. ? Must carry minimum coverage
applicable by law for auto insurance ? Must receive seasonal flu
vaccination Other Requirements Flexibility to work weekends,
holidays, and shifts at various Northland store locations.
