Prepare records of shipments and bills of lading for outbound trucks. Prepares records of receipt of incoming material, chemicals, and equipment and update database. Responsible for accuracy of shipping documents and computer data and verifying receiving receipts with open POs.Core ResponsibilitiesAccountable for training, motivating, and leading within area of responsibility.Creating purchase orders for all inedible shipmentsMeet with supervisors dialing, receive shipping plan/instruction, relay/execute plan with team.Inspection of trailers prior to loading to confirm sanitary conditions and proper refrigeration equipment operation.Take temperature readings and read fuel settings on refrigerated trailers.Forklifts: Pre-operational inspection, operation. Pallet jacks: operation of manual and electric.Stocking and pulling product from warehouse racking. Pick and pack outgoing shipments. Ability to quickly locate merchandise for distribution or placement within the warehouse.Verify incoming shipment quantities, product number, etc.Understand all shipping terms used in domestic shipping transactionsAbility to break apart the day to cover several tasksSufficient strength and stamina to spend a lot of time on their feet and lift packages from below waist height to above shoulder height.Maintain a clean and organized work environment.Follow our color code system in regard to food safety.Other duties as directed by SupervisorAbility to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment. Food safety and quality are the responsibility of every individual working at Kansas City Sausage Company, you are expected to: - Follow USDA/SQF and GMP guidelines.Stay focused on quality while maintaining speed.Be able to work in temperature extremes from 38 to -17 degrees.Ability to stand 8+ hours per day.CDL License preferred. $2.00/hr increase if licensed.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
