The USE family of companies offers full-service, award winning plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal construction, service and maintenance.PROJECT MANAGER - SOLUTIONSThe Project Manager - Service and Special Projects is a vital part of the U.S. Engineering team and holds responsibility for overseeing the profitability and success of each project. The Project Manager oversees all aspects of the business, from procurement to operations. It is the responsibility of the Service and Special Projects Manager to foster existing customer relationships, secure additional maintenance work, and work closely with other team members to secure new maintenance contracts.Principal Duties and Accountabilities:Responsible for project start-up, including detailed estimate review, and facilitation of purchasing, procurement, subcontracts and submittals, and project schedules.Monitor control and completion of projects through administrative direction of on-site service plumbers and HVAC technicians to ensure quality projects are built safely on schedule, and within budget.Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within scope of company policies and standard operating procedures.Responsible for-profit management of assigned projects.Fosters effective relationships with project team, as well as clients, vendors, subcontractors, etc.Oversees the review and processing of submittals.Manages subcontractor proposal requests, scope reviews and the issuing of subcontracts.Responsible for establishing and monitoring schedule of field and subcontractor progress.Assists in the coordination of safety programs, and oversees job site safety reviews.Coordinates all job correspondence.Identifies opportunities for future projects and networks internally and externally to pursue such opportunities, in collaboration with the Vice President of Operations - Service and Special Projects, and others.Responsible for securing service maintenance contracts for completed projects, both directly and in collaboration with Service Division Special Projects team members.Responsible for fostering the professional development of other team members, such as Technicians and support staff, through education, development, and continuous feedback.Responsible for reinforcing the company s core values in how the project work is performed.Assists in performing annual performance assessments and sets and implements service expectations for field technicians and plumbers.Job Scope:The Project Manager - Service and Special Projects, should possess the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, ranging from $50,000.00 up to approximately $2,000,000.00 in value.Management Responsibility:Individual Contributor - no subordinates.Acts in capacity as lead person but does not have management responsibility for the people to whom direction is provided.Education:Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management not required but a plus.Equivalent combination of field and relevant project leadership experience will be considered.Experience:Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required. This could include any of the below, or a combination of:Project management for a variety of projects in commercial and industrial environments in the mechanical construction industry.Field experience servicing and/or installing HVAC systems.Knowledge, skills, and abilities:In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems as well as servicing of those systems.Thorough knowledge of mechanical construction industry practices, processes, and standards - including systems design, installation, and servicing.Must possess a strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, as well as a basic knowledge of plumbing systems (Will be required to also manage plumbing accounts).Ability to maximize performance of project team through innovative and effective management techniques.Superior communication and interpersonal skills, such as diplomacy, persuasion, etc. are essential to develop and foster effective professional relationships.Time management and organizational skills.Basic level of financial acumen necessary to manage project budget/performance.Knowledge of the following computer programs:Microsoft WordExcelStrong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-management skills.Ability to successfully drive project through completion.Physical and/or travel demands:Routine daily driving to project sites required.Infrequent overnight travel may be required, based on project assignments.Physical demands include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
