Searching for a Sr Benefits Analyst to support our work at the Department of Energy's Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) in Kansas City, MO. - As a Sr Benefits Analyst, you will serve as a subject matter expert for benefit initiatives. You will act as the SME for employees, HR professionals, and suppliers to provide services for our benefit offerings. You will be the direct liaison between our Kansas City location and the Corporate Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Executes benefits activities to support health & welfare plans, leave management, and/or voluntary benefits
Administers local benefits such as adoption assistance, military leave, and education assistance
Performs system testing for annual enrollment and audits for accuracy
Acts as KCNSC liaison between the Kansas City location and the Corporate Office, administers benefits, attends meetings and advocates as necessary for the local site
Provides expertise, advice and counsel regarding HR and benefits questions and escalations
Maintains benefit policies and provides interpretation
Creates and provides benefit communications and trainings for the HR team and business as needed
Acts as a customer service consultant handling complex issues requiring specialized benefits knowledge
Works with third party administrators on plan administration to maintain service and quality
Implements process improvements in the Benefits functional area to continuously improve efficiency and customer service
Assists with reconciliation functions and pay issues with the Payroll department as it relates to benefit premiums or leaves related to benefit offerings
Create standard and ad-hoc reports; audit benefit information and manage billing for benefit related costs
Complete NNSA/DOE contract requirements
You Must Have:
Minimum of 5 years of experience within benefits focus
General working knowledge and demonstrated experience in related HR disciplines
General understanding of accounting principles
We Value:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Advanced PC skills, especially with Excel spreadsheets. Demonstrated experience creating and analyzing reports in Excel
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Effective and positive verbal and interactive communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel as well as external customers
Demonstrated experience with HR business systems
PeopleSoft experience is strongly preferred. Experience creating and running queries in HRIS systems is preferred
Attention to detail with ability to manage data accurately as well as confidentially
Proven organizational skills and strong detail orientation
Must have a clear process focus.
Ability to perform multiple tasks in demand status is highly desired
Must have strong project management skills
Demonstrated ability to drive change
Must be flexible and demonstrate ability to adapt to changing policies, procedures, priorities and/or work environments
Strong demonstrated customer service orientation (i.e. listening, follow-through, willingness to help, ability to find solutions)
Strong integrative thinking skills: ability to take data and provide a cohesive and coherent analysis or summary
Proven analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated decision making skills
