Job Description:

Jet Midwest is a full-service commercial aviation company, specializing in the sale and lease of commercial aircraft, engines, and parts as well as aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services to the aviation industry. This position is located at the Kansas City International Airport Area. We are looking for a motivated, high-energy team member to join our Facilities Maintenance team. What you should know about the day-to-day: Jet Midwest occupies the former TWA Overhaul Base facility just south of the Kansas City International Airport. This position is responsible for providing high quality workmanship at all stages of the painting and composites application process to deliver top notch results on aircraft parts and components, have a strong attention to detail, safety, and use aviation paint systems on aircraft parts and components in both wet and dry dock environments and painting booths.You will need to take ownership of daily tasks

  • Use aviation paint systems on aircrafts and aircraft parts in both wet and dry dock environments
  • Prep, mask, tape, prime, topcoat, layout, and design work, including accent graphics, stripes, clear coating, touch up, and buffing
  • Mix paint using correct formulas
  • Deliver high-quality paint results free from blemishes (runs, sags, drips, etc.)
  • Maintain work area and equipment in compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Complete work cards as requested
  • Other duties as assigned by department manager or leadsYou'll be building relationships through:

  • Growth opportunitiesOther important information:While performing the responsibilities of the Aircraft Painter, the employee will be on their feet much of the day utilizing paint equipment. This may involve working on lifts and/or ladders at heights up to 40 feet. More than 90% of their job duties will require the ability to: walk long distances, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. The noise level is generally high as consistent with a mechanical workshop where power tools and equipment are used. Frequent, heavy lifting may be required, up to 50 lbs. As such, safe lifting techniques should be used and a request for assistance should be made to co-workers or a supervisor.
