Heavy Civil

Missouri

We are currently looking for 2 Estimators to join a well know and respected heavy civil contractor in Missouri.

Responsible for collecting and analyzing data to estimate the time, equipment, materials, and labor required to prepare and submit bids to construct heavy highway, bridge and site development projects. This individual will be responsible for estimating total costs and setting a timeline for project duration.

ESSENTIAL ESTIMATING FUNCTIONS

Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues

Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labor expenses

Read plans and technical documents to prepare estimates

Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on estimates

Use sophisticated computer software to calculate estimates (HCSS HeavyBid, bidTABS.net, AASHTOWARE Expedite, AASHTOWARE Project Bids, Microsoft Project, BlueBeam, SQL based Accounting Software, AgTEK and other industry recognized takeoff software, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills)

Recommend ways to make projects more cost effective or profitable

Prepare estimates for bid

Develop preliminary project schedules as required for bid submission or bid analysis

Assist Project Managers in preparing cost

Estimate costs associated with project specific Quality Management requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Engineering, Mathematics or related field required.

Minimum of 3 years' experience[JB1] within the heavy civil construction industry.

Knowledge of Road construction methods, materials and industry requirements; demonstrate strong work ethic with integrity and commitment to compliance.

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, walk, stand; Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Valid driver's license with insurable driving record.
