Job Description:
Senior Microbial Analyst Kelly Science & Clinical is partnering
with a a world leader in testing, inspection and certification
services (TIC) for a long-term engagement or Direct Hire in Olathe,
Kansas as a Senior Microbial Analyst. A Senior Microbial Analyst
Performs advanced sample preparation and sample analysis with
quality control techniques. Manages prioritization of samples in a
fast-paced environment with daily turnaround, able to resolve
analytical and process problems. Must be adaptable, willing
teambuild and train team members, willing to take feedback. Great
opportunity for advancement and overtime hours. Responsibilities: -
Performs sample preparation and procedures prior to analyses. -
Performs basic to complex sample testing and analysis. - Provides
general and advanced lab support. - Records results in log books,
FCDs, and LIMS. - Assists with method and data validation. -
Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions
(WIs) when conducting any laboratory work or procedure. - Ensures a
high level of accuracy in sample prep and analysis. - Employs
proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabeling,
sample mix-up and cross contamination between samples and other
materials. - Prioritizes daily workload based on sample and client
requirement for self and junior staff. - Provides manager updates
on statuses and notification of delays. - Understands analysis
procedures enough to help cross-train others and problem solve
issues. - Maintains training records and relevant qualifications. -
Meets quality and TAT specifications required by the client and
ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements. -
Participates in developing SOPs and WIs. - Ensures instruments are
properly maintained and assesses new instruments. - Participates,
when requested in internal and external audits. - Provides
training, mentoring, and technical expertise to junior staff. -
Assumes a leadership role in planning and implementation of
enhancements to the lab and coordinates laboratory projects. -
Attends onsite client meetings and meetings with vendors as
requested. Requirements: - B. Sc. Preferred, and 3-5 yrs experience
in related areas of testing. Pay $20+ DOE. - Positive outlook with
an ability to work under pressure to meet changing deadlines and
shifting priorities. - Good time-management, communication,
multi-tasking, and priority setting skills. - Works both
independently and as part of a team. - Detail orientated and record
keeping skills. - Adapts to a changing environment. Learns quickly.
- Good team-building, training, and coaching skills. - Excellent
computer skills. LIMS experience preferred.You should know: Your
