Job Description:

Kocher + Beck USA, L.P. is a light manufacturer in Lenexa, KS seeking candidates who enjoy a fast-paced, clean, climate control production environment. The Maintenance Technician main responsibility is to conduct, maintain, test and repair mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and components. The position applies knowledge of mechanical and electrical/electronic principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. The maintenance technician provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing and the facility.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages, and test equipment.
Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
Communicates with Production Manager and Chief Operating Officer to set Maintenance priorities.
Ensuring that all production equipment is maintained and performs preventive maintenance functions.

Position + Hours
This is a permanent full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, core hours are 10:00am to 6:30pm or 12:00pm to 8:30pm, 40 hours per week. A flexible schedule is required to occasional work nights and weekends and to be on call in case of an emergency.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a candidate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Mostly standing and walking work. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 20 pounds.

Three years of experience in maintenance field, OR two years technical or trade school training certification and two years of experience in one of the following trades: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
A technical or trade school training certification is preferred but not required.
Must possess a valid drivers' license.
Knowledge of Mechanical, Electronic/Electrical Maintenance principles.
Advanced mathematics and computer knowledge required.
Ability to read, comprehend, and write English at a level to effectively use/interpret instructions.
Time management, communication, and multitasking skills required.
Detail-oriented, organizational and cleanliness is skills required.
Able to work independently, as well as with others in a fast-paced environment.
Willing to work with and around chemicals is required.
Experience driving and operating a forklift is highly preferred.
HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Certification preferred but not required.
The ability to learn quickly is a plus.
