Research Project Coordinator Life Span Institute, University of Kansas JUNIPER GARDENS CHILDREN'S PROJECTWe are seeking a part-time to fulltime Research Project Coordinator for a research project that focuses on developing and implementing a coaching model for an elementary classroom management intervention. Approximately 4 school districts and 20 elementary schools with students at risk for school failure will participate in the project and contribute to the development of the program. The coaching model will consist of project staff training school district personnel and utilizing video coaching software. Schools will be recruited from districts in the metropolitan Kansas City area (Kansas and Missouri schools), and up to a 60 mile radius. A collaborating site will be recruiting schools in the San Francisco area.The Research Project Coordinator will oversee development efforts including training and cross-site coordination. Reliable transportation and the ability to be flexible in scheduling around school schedules are required. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and management skills as evidenced in work experience. The position is at JGCP, located in downtown Kansas City, Kansas in the Children's Campus of Kansas City building: 444 Minnesota Ave, Suite 300, Kansas City, KS 66101. Travel to schools within the metro area is required. Reimbursement for local travel in addition to salary. Continuation is contingent on satisfactory evaluation and available funding.RESPONSIBILITIES: 25% - Coordinate development efforts with project team in accordance with the project's proposed plan and timeline, including recruiting participants, working with coaches and school personnel to develop training procedures and procedures to use video coaching software to support teachers and to improve student outcomes.20% - Coordinate efforts with an independent evaluation team to conduct assessments including direct observation of classrooms and survey administration.20% - Meet with school district partners to coordinate, support, and monitor activities based on approved plan and timeline.10% - Contribute to the development of professional development resources and materials, including presentations, handouts, and video tutorials.10% - Provide ongoing support and resources to district personnel for implementing the intervention.5% - Create and share data reports with partners, to evaluate development efforts.5% - Lead project meetings with advisors along with school and university partners and monitor follow-up items.5% - In collaboration with principal investigators, produce reports and presentations to communicate findings and progress to funding agencies.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor's degree in education, special education, behavior analysis, psychology, or related field. 2. One year experience working with elementary teachers or elementary age students in public schools as evidenced in application materials. 3. One year experience collaborating using video-conferencing tools such as Zoom, Skype, Goto Meeting etc as evidenced in application materials. 4. Fluent in the use of office productivity applications and cloud-based applications such as OneDrive, Box, Sharepoint, Google Docs as evidenced in application materials.Position Requirements:--- Reliable transportation and the ability to be flexible in scheduling around schoolschedules are required. 2. Travel to schools within the area is required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Master's degree in education, applied behavior analysis, psychology, special education or related field. 2. Elementary or Secondary teaching certificate. 3. Experience conducting interventions or research with elementary school students at risk for school failure. 4. One year experience coaching teachers addressing teaching or behavior management skills. 5. Strong written and oral communication skills as evidenced in work history. 6. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently across multiple projects, with limited supervision as evidenced in work history.FTE: 75-100%SALARY: $55,000-$60,000 commensurate with education and experience. .
