EquipmentShare is Hiring a Senior Research Scientist EquipmentShare is searching for a Senior Research Scientist to join our team. This position is fully remote. What You'll Do as a Senior Research Scientist Despite having been fundamentally altered by earlier industrial revolutions, the construction industry has hardly budged with the computer revolution. In fact, since 1970, labor productivity in the US construction industry has actually declined, despite it more than doubling in the rest of the economy. This has contributed to housing shortages and the parlous state of infrastructure in some places, and is sanding the gears of carbon reduction efforts. We think the industry is ripe for change, and we're pushing the leading edge of that change with our next generation - T3 Platform , the OS for Construction. Through T3, we help contractors to coordinate humans and (increasingly smarter) machines to build more effectively. As a Senior Research Scientist in our small and quickly growing team, you will play a major role in this effort. In particular, you will

• Work closely with our design and product teams to develop experiments, surveys and observational studies that expand our knowledge of the motivations and behaviors of current and potential future users of our services, and of how their behaviors might be impacted by potential changes to those services
• Work closely with the rest of our science team as we build and experimentally test ML, OR and other applied-mathematics applications that drive business value and create revolutionary change in the construction industry
• Work closely with our Data Platform team and with our engineering and product partners to develop tools and best practices for experimentation across the organization About You Our mission is to change an entire industry, so we only hire people inspired by the goal and up for the challenge. Minimum Qualifications for a Senior Research Scientist
  • Quantitative graduate degree, or equivalent practical experience, in statistics, epidemiology, a social science or a related field
  • 3+ years working on technology-powered products as either a data scientist, research scientist or a closely related role
  • Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product development
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills
