Unit Coordinator - Burn Unit - Night Shift

Position Summary / Career Interest:
Provides charge nurse responsibilities, including assignments,
management of throughput, staffing to matrix, and responding to
patient and staff needs. Manages a patient care assignment as
indicated by patient care needs. Assists with hiring, education and
performance evaluation of the staff. Works with the Nurse Manager
and Human Resources in performance management counseling and
discipline of staff. Instructs staff and ensures compliance with
standards through daily on-going monitoring and performance
management. Serves as a role model and mentor for excellence in
clinical practice and patient and employee satisfaction. Takes
personal responsibility for achieving productivity targets and
budget compliance. Has primary involvement and responsibility for
unit performance improvement activities and outcomes.
Inpatient Burn Unit
These nurses work with an experienced multi-disciplinary team,
using the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to help
patients heal from burns, complex skin disorders, slow-to-heal
wounds and reconstructive surgeries. Our Burnett Burn Center is an
adult and pediatric verified burn center that provides acute and
intensive inpatient care to those who need specialized treatment
and rehab interventions.. The center features two hydrotherapy
bays, an operating room suite, a nutrition center and a physical
therapy gym. We also closely collaborate with the outpatient burn
and wound care clinic to provide ongoing specialized wound care in
the outpatient setting which may include hyperbaric oxygen therapy
to enhance healing.

*Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or
technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing
Registered Nurse in State of Kansas
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or obtained within 14 days
of hire.
As a condition of your employment and continued employment with the
health system, you are required to secure a Nurse Compact License
(NCL) within 60 days of your date of hire. This will enable you to
perform your job duties not only in Kansas, but other compact
states. You will be responsible for any expenses you incur in
securing this license, and must provide your manager with evidence
of this license before the sixty-day period expires. If you fail to
secure the NCL as required, you will be immediately removed from
the work schedule and placed on an unpaid administrative leave,
until we can understand the reasons for your non-compliance.
Further failure to comply with the licensing requirement will
result in your end of employment with the health system.
Preferred:
2 years of clinical experience
Professional Nursing Certification
