The Unix - Infrastructure Services team is responsible for building
and monitoring Unix/Linux servers. Our responsibilities range from
maintaining new operating system releases to implementing changes
to our production environment. This also includes handling any
unplanned interruptions or reductions in quality of service.
As an Automation Systems Engineer, you will be involved in the
efforts in advancing operational efficiencies through identifying
and automating repeatable tasks, enhancing monitoring and
remediation, and driving automation to be pervasive across the UMB
environment. You will also be collaborating with broader teams on
automation activities including participating in project and team
meetings. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which
involves other multiple initiatives as assigned by IT leadership.
This role is open to qualified remote candidates.
How you'll spend your time:
Define and execute core infrastructure services and common design
patterns for computing, storage, networking, operational, and
security domains. This will include developing and maintaining
automation frameworks for platform provisioning consumed by
application product teams.
Advise application product teams on incorporating infrastructure
capabilities.
Actively develop and support self-service catalogs for
infrastructure provisioning and make them available to application
teams. This includes assisting with infrastructure provisioning
automation to meet IT general controls and that solutions are
deployed in safe, secure, resilient and compliant manner.
Provide thoughts to leadership in assisting to create solutions
built with Python, Ansible, PowerShell and Shell Scripting
components.

You have a degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field OR
equivalent IT work experience.
You have 2 years of experience in infrastructure and platform
engineering for high availability and scalable architectures.
You have 1 year of hands-on experience in DevOps or
automation/scripting using Python, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash,
and/or Shell Scripting. This includes troubleshooting and
maintenance of scripts.
You have working knowledge with automation methodologies,
strategies, best practice, and process improvement.
You have experience with Metrics, Events Logging, and Tracing
solutions using Splunk.
The pay range for a candidate selected for this position who is
based in Colorado is typically $72,870 to $135,450 annually. The
selected candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors,
including but not limited to work location, qualifications, and
experience, so the actual starting pay for the selected candidate
may be above or below this range. The successful candidate will
also be eligible to participate in one or more incentive plans
based on company and individual performance.
