Job Description:

SEKISUI XenoTech, LLC is currently looking for a Scientist I in our Program Execution department! The Scientist I will conduct routine and advanced routine protocol driven laboratory procedures. In this role the Scientist I, will conduct laboratory functions including but not limited to: diluting, labeling and dispensing of biological samples, reagent solution preparation, laboratory upkeep, maintain inventory of supplies, and proper cleaning. They may also conduct administration functions including but not limited to routine SOP reviews or revisions and basic new hire laboratory training with minimal supervision. They will ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, standard documentation practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations.This position is an on-site role with duties requiring full-time on-site attendance.Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Independently conducts routine laboratory procedures and biomedical research including preparing chemical reagents biochemical assays and in vitro incubation of drugs and new chemical entities.
  • Follow strict adherence to all study protocols, adhering to appropriate compliance regulations and SOPs.
  • Maintain laboratories and equipment, appropriate logs, records, study notebooks and administrative records.
  • Review and verify the accuracy and validity of processed data and communicate errors if needed.
  • Serve as a reviewer or conduct revisions of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Train analysts on basic laboratory SOPs at or below this level.
  • Ensure compliance with daily and annual training including: SOP, annual Safety and GLP training. Continued efforts and progress to become qualified on relevant SOPs as provided by trainer/supervisor.
  • Communicate laboratory instrument or software issues to appropriate SXT personnel.
  • Respond swiftly and appropriately to study and in house quality assurance audits.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Master's degree (M.S./M.A.) in biologic or chemical or related field with
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write notes-to-file and internal correspondence.
    • Ability to speak effectively with groups of employees of organization.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, algebra and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determinations of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation of techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most basic phases.
    • Knowledge or familiarity with scientific terminology.
    • Literate and proficient in the use of personal computers and peripheral equipment.
    • Proficient in software programs such as word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, statistical analysis, and enzyme kinetics.
