Overview This position provides quality support services of pre-registering patient accounts prior to arrival. The data collection processes performed by this role directly impact many hospital departments with collection of demographic information as well as insurance eligibility verification and benefits. Individuals in this role often serve as one of a patient's first impression of the hospital's delivery of customer service. This role works in conjunction with other professionals on the financial clearance team, preparing a patient's account for check-in and setting financial responsibility expectations prior to their visit. Responsibilities * Completes the process for pre-registration by obtaining, entering, and verifying demographic and financial information in the computer system for all scheduled visits. * Communicates with appropriate resources within the hospital to assist with family/patient needs. * Monitors pending work tasks via the Shoretel phone system, viewing reports, and managing work lists. Qualifications * Associate's Degree Equivalent college hours is accepted or 1-2 years experience Previous customer service experience, business office setting and/or contact center (individually or combined experience) or * HS diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years (individually or combined) experience in patient access department role or customer service position Starting Pay Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $15.00, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience. Remote Work/Work from Home This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
