• You have obtained your EIT
• Have a relevant degree or interest in working outside, on site (Construction Management, Geology, and Engineering preferred but not required)
• Interested in working on-site/in the field for first year with the company
• Dynamic personality with a flexible attitudeWorking in the Kansas City Market, the candidate will be responsible for visiting project sites and conducting testing on soils and concrete. Will return results to the lab, and run tests.Will work with a project team to ensure accuracy and accountability. Field observation at construction sites - including inspection and testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt pavements Conduct pier inspections Logging of test borings Perform laboratory testing Report WritingInspects contractor's operations in placement of concrete for pavements and for bridge piers and abutmentsConducts air content testsSlump tests and obtains cylinders for subsequent load testsInspects contractor's method of handling and placing concrete to minimize segregation, the finishing of the concrete, and the method of curing, inspects paving trains to ensure a smooth concrete pavement.Inspects contractor's operations in the installation of culverts, sewers and ditches; ensures that excavation of trenches is done in a safe manner for proper alignment and grade, that correct material is placed and properly shaped to "bed" the pipe and that backfill over pipe is of correct material and properly compacted.
