Job Description Job Description: Role Summary/Purpose: The AVP,
Solution Architect craves getting into the weeds of hard problems
and figuring out how to make things work. This dynamic and
collaborative role will be part of the Synchrony Financial renowned
Innovation Station – the hotbed of innovation and thought
leadership throughout the company. This Solution Architect will
architect complex business solutions by partnering with business
and technology leaders to understand key challenges as well as
produce process flows and system interaction diagrams to help drive
these solutions. In short, you will figure out how to make our
innovative ideas work in the real world with a particular focus in
the product incubation space. Our Way of Working We’re proud to

You need to be ready to get into the weeds on complex technology
solutions and be willing to identify the right tool for the right
solution, not simply falling back on what you’re comfortable with.
Essential Responsibilities: Be a leading architect for a few
development teams through all phases of the Agile development life
cycle Rapid prototyping through mindful use of company resources
and tech stacks Design solutions to business needs by documenting
systems, data, and business logic of an end-to-end business
process. Influence and collaborate with software developers, UX
designers, product managers application architects, and customer
application experts to create amazing apps Ensure compliance with
architecture, security and technology standards set by Synchrony
Assist in crafting and maintaining the future state technology
architectural strategy and roadmap Participate in Agile scrums
consisting of cross-functional teams Participate in addressing root
cause analyses, incident reports and provide direction in problem
resolution Ability to analyze production defects, troubleshoot
systems, identify root cause, and implement fixes Provide 24x7
on-call support periodically throughout the year Passionate about
the latest technologies, open source projects and languages
Identify ways to increase efficiency and improve system performance
Work with third party vendors to develop software and/or integrate
their software into the company's products Perform other duties
and/or special projects as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree and a
minimum of 5 years of solution architecture experience OR, in lieu
of degree, High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of experience with
solution architecture experience. Strong solution architecture
skills and experience designing complex technical solutions
Familiarity with microservices, event-driven architecture and cloud
native design patterns Understanding of modern web front end
frameworks like ReactJS Java development skills are a plus
Familiarity with JSON, REST and XML based web services Strong
communication skills with technical and non-technical peers Desired
Characteristics: Strong cross-functional team player with the
ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization Desire to
work in a dynamic, fast paced environment Strong interpersonal
skills with ability to influence clients, team members, management
and external groups, including challenging opinions Strong
attention to detail in a team environment Strong oral and written
communication, analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to
analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to
troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact and
resolution options Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to
influence clients, team members, management and external groups,
with a particular focus on storytelling Being comfortable with
ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities Grade/Level: 11 The
salary range for this position is 115,000.00 - 200,000.00 USD
Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and
company performance. Actual compensation offered within the posted
salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or
knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY
Metro and Seattle. Eligibility Requirements: You must be 18 years
or older You must have a high school diploma or equivalent You must
be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background
investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding
process You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19
of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. New hires (Level 4-7) must
have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they
are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in
position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6
months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt
roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’
time in position before they can post. All internal employees must
consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from
your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you
don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations). Legal
