Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is hiring an Information
Technology (IT) Assistant Vice President (AVP) to lead the
enablement, delivery, and/or operations of a functional IT area.
These functions could include solution delivery, solution
enablement, information security, or end user services. The AVP
will work with other Kansas City Fed and Federal Reserve System IT
leaders to develop strategies and execute on plans to deliver
business outcomes through technology. This role works closely with
senior business leadership to guide the Bank's organizational and
strategic plans and mature an integrated and modern technology
delivery model across the Bank's IT organization. The position
would report directly to a senior officer with broad technology
responsibilities. A key aspect of the role is focusing on the
identification and growth of technology talent across many domains
and within leadership roles. This leader will spearhead the
development, growth, and succession of employees within a segment
of the Bank's IT organization and engage in talent development
discussions across IT and broader Bank-wide business areas. The
position requires a customer-centric and agile perspective that can
successfully align desired business outcomes with an overall end
user service and operational strategy. ---The AVP must be able to
collaboratively work with individuals and teams across Federal
Reserve Business Lines and IT organizations to achieve successful
business objectives.Key Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership forthe attraction, development, and
retention of a high caliber staff with diverse capabilities and
develops successors and talent pools for key roles. -
- Fosters a work culture that promotes a cooperative, inclusive,
innovative, andteam-oriented environment. Oversees and engages in
diversity and inclusion activities.
- Establishes strategic vision, goals, and objectives for a
specific IT function, consistent with the Bank's overarching
strategic direction, goals, and objectives.

across the organization.
- Maximizesvalue of shared technology enablement investments.
Develops a culture of alignment toestablished standards, practices,
and continuous process improvement.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and enables leaders
and teams to improveperformance and achieve success.
- Provides oversight of administrative and organizational
responsibilities for areasof functional responsibility that include
budgeting, administration, and compliance. -
- Expands and leverages collaborative working partnership, while
influencingSystem and Bank-wide decisions. Will serve on committees
to develop and support overarching strategy at System and local
levels.Qualifications & Experience:
- Possesses strong leadership abilities and excels in the Bank's
core values (Integrity, Service, Personal Growth and Development,
Inclusion, and Innovation) and leadership competencies (Model the
Way, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, Encouragethe
Heart, and Inspire a Shared Vision).
- Demonstrated proficiency as a strong leader who has
successfully managed other leaders and an operational team. At
least five years of managerial experience required; ten years
preferred.
- Ability to cultivate a strong management team through
identification, training, and retention, and motivate management
and staff to work collaboratively.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to
communicate effectively across a wide group of people and
audiences. Effective in initiating conversations andcommunications
necessary to resolve issues.
- Excellent relationship management skills. Substantial
experience working collaboratively across internal and external
organizations to build relationships and influence key
constituents, including senior executives. ----
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of directly related
experience and/or education required. Degree in Computer Science or
Engineering preferred. -
- Typically requires at least 10 or more years of progressive
people and/or business leadership experience.
- Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the
Bank grants anaccommodation based on a medical condition or
sincerely held religious belief.
- This position may require additional screening requirements due
to the information accessed while performing the job. These
additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer
acceptance and can take up to a couple of months to be completed.
You can begin work before the screening is completed; however,
continued employment is contingent on acceptable screening results.
