WHY IS THIS POSITION IMPORTANT?We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced QA Automation Engineer II within our eScreen Business Unit located in Kansas City, MO. The eScreen Quality Assurance Automation Engineer II is a Quality Assurance professional who contributes his/her advanced expertise and practice of quality assurance and automated testing to high performing Agile teams. The QA Automation Engineer II helps design, build, and evolve an automation framework, along with helping others develop automation skills and knowledge. The QA Automation Engineer II typically will have at least five (5) years of testing and quality process experience using recognized testing methodologies and practices, with at least three (3) years of experience coding automated testing scripts. This role is an advanced individual contributor to both quality control (testing) and quality assurance (process and prevention). The QA Automation Engineer II is also expected to understand and exhibit the importance of adhering to regulations (i.e. SOX, FDA, HIPAA, PCI, etc.) and is responsible for contributing to regulatory compliance. As an important member of an Agile environment, the QA Automation Engineer II is expected to cultivate, grow, and maintain core principals including, but not limited to, continuous improvement, self-organization, adaptive planning, and value driven development, using methodologies and frameworks such as LEAN, SCRUM, and KANBAN. Additionally, you will possess a growth-mindset, be team-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, and possess the ability to deal with ambiguity; applicants must also demonstrate an aptitude for team communication and collaboration. RESPONSIBILITIES * Work across teams (development, QA, product owners, DBAs, etc.) to enhance quality processes by identifying and helping to implement initiatives that will improve capability and efficiency * Design, develop, and support frameworks for our test infrastructure and provide automation expertise * Contribute toward predictable delivery of quality releases * Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automation * Mentor team members on automation and quality assurance practices and methodologies * Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions * Execute test scripts and resolve script errors * Work closely with Testers, Developers, Product Managers, and Designers to create effective automated tests * Create and maintain automated test scripts for end-to-end, functional, regression, and API tests * Design, develop, and support automated performance, load, and stress testing * Collaborate with others to integrate scripts into the build and deploy process within multiple environments. * Drive the adoption of best practices in testing and maintainability * Analyze and decompose complex software systems form the quality lens looking for improvement to overall robustness, stability, and/or performance. * Work closely with development teams to drive root cause analysis and feed that knowledge into automated quality processes effectively * Support and help grow great talent in the quality analyst and quality engineering spaces * Resolve and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion * Use judgment within defined policies and practices * Review and evaluate deliverables to ensure they conform to quality standards. * Provide quality assurance and automation expertise in all project efforts from initiation through implementation * Exhibit excellent problem solving, thinking, and troubleshooting skills * Work independently with limited reliance on a more senior team member * Assist/lead in building a culture of learning and continuous improvement for the QA team and IT department * Exhibit deep understanding of automation principles * Assist the continued improvement of the test automation suite through direct contribution and collaboration * Peer review automated and manual test cases * Apply test methodology, as well as business process and application knowledge, in the design of tests and testing * Clearly and succinctly speak to, and incorporate, testing methodologies, principles, and techniques * Work directly with database administrators, security engineers, user experience professionals, and others to resolve challenges quickly, yet with a quality-first mindset * Work with other groups, displaying strong communication and collaboration skills * Demonstrate an understanding of how applications are used by customers, clients, and internal support * Clearly articulate the IT infrastructure supporting existing and new applications and services * Follow established processes and procedures pertaining to Scrum/Kanban, software development, quality assurance, and regulations. (i.e. SOX, FDA, QMS, HIPAA, PCI, etc.) * This position will also be required to work nights and weekends as needed to support development efforts and to perform production release validations The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience is required * Hands-on current experience authoring, building and adopting mid to large scale, cross-functional automation frameworks with well-balanced coverage across UI, back-end integration, and database levels * Typically, at least 5+ years of related work experience is required * Typically, 4+ years of strong hands-on QA experience with web applications, services and APIs preferably developed using SQL Server, Windows Server, Visual Studio .NET, *******, HTML/CSS/JS, jQuery, React, Angular, C#. * Typically, 3+ years of experience in database testing with the ability to read, write, and execute complex SQL queries * Typically, 3+ years of experience with automation testing using tools and frameworks like NUnit, Katalon, UFT, or Selenium * Typically, 3+ years of experience testing web services, web APIs, Databases, Authentication, web server configuration * Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. * Experience mentoring QA staff and end users on quality objectives and testing processes * Deep understanding of different test automation approaches (keyword-driven, Data-driven, BDD, TDD, etc.) and technology stacks (Microservices, .NET, ******* MVC, Angular JS, JavaScript, SQL Server etc.) * Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) or source code and project management suite is required * Typically, 3+ years of demonstrated experience coordinating test activities among multiple testers * Typically, 3+ years of experience leading a testing project including responsibility for all test planning and reporting activities * Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills * Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environments * Experience in writing, executing and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, Cucumber, Concordion, Selenium, Fit/FitNesse, SoapUI * Proficient working with relational databases such as MySQL & PostreSQL * Will assume a testing, quality, or technical lead role * Will mentor and train/teach others (developers, testers, business partners, etc. within the IT department.
