Department: Finance & Purchasinggrade: 160Salary: $41,605 - $46,363/year - Depending on QualificationsJob Duties:Responsible for the processing of county finance payroll, journal vouchers, general ledger transfers and/or corrections.Processes pay authorization and pay changes documents, prepares journal vouchers which redistribute payroll cost, researches pay and payroll questions from payroll clerks and county employees.Prepares and controls manual payroll checks, prepare and distribute bi-weekly departmental payrolls; controls the preparation, editing, and issuance of Form W-2; and assists in the preparation of the computer-generated check creation process as determined by the Payroll Supervisor or other designated supervisory personnelAssists department supervisory staff in the development and the implementation of new payroll procedures and techniques.Advises the Budget and Personnel staff regarding payroll and personnel policiesMinimum Qualifications:Associate's degree with one year experience in payroll accounting experience OR three years of work experience in payroll accounting.Must submit to/pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
