Purpose Statement/Position Summary
The Clinical Recruiter maintains responsibility for the development and implementation of effective recruitment and retention plans that support the hiring and staffing needs of Long Beach Memorial Hospital and Miller Children's Hospital Long Beach. The position supports hiring managers and/or leaders by sourcing, screening, qualifying and recommending external and internal candidates. The Clinical Recruiter delivers outstanding customer service and collaborates with hiring managers and/or leaders to plan and provide full life cycle recruitment services. He/She is also responsible for providing support and leadership for HR related initiatives and programs when necessary.

Essential Job Outcomes & Functions
Meets with hiring managers to discuss recruitment strategies and hiring profile. Implements a recruitment plan that includes the development of marketing materials, advertisement campaigns, sourcing channels, and other related activities.
Screens applications, interviews qualified applicants, makes recommendation to hiring managers. Extends and negotiates offers to candidates.
Reviews and clarifies job description for open positions, confirms minimum and preferred requirements.
Maintains timely and clear communication and correspondence with hiring managers, applicants and recruitment and retention team. Answers applicant inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and job duties. Provides hiring manager status updates and recommendations.
Maintains and tracks status of employment applications, requisitions, and requests for transfers for assigned areas and positions.
Ensures that offers of employment are handled appropriately and in keeping with hospital policies and procedures. Rescinds job offers as necessary when candidates do not pass the pre-employment process.
Conducts exit interviews, identifying trends and making recommendations to appropriate personnel.
Develops methods to improve recruitment processes and services. Makes recommendations for improvements and leads change implementation when deemed appropriate by management.
Successfully manages human resources and/or employment related projects in a timely manner, by defining the purpose of the project, developing milestone documents, defining critical tasks and implementation steps, and has oversight through project completion.
Performs other duties as assigned.

5+ years of experience in Human Resources and/or recruitment, in the healthcare industry preferred.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including Word, Excel and Power Point.
Experience in using applicant tracking systems.
Must have a basic knowledge of applicable state and federal labor laws relating to employment and selection.
Bachelor's degree preferred. Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) is a plus.
