Job Description Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician II Position Overview: The Kansas City Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician II supports clinical trial projects through the packaging of clinical trial supplies. We are a growing team and looking for highly motivated individuals to eventually take on leadership roles! Successful completion of all training in the Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician I course is required to advance into this position. The Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician II reports to the Production Supervisor and may accept tasks issued from Room Leads and Team Leads. Schedule - Monday-Thursday 5am-3:30pm Catalent is a leading provider of advanced technologies and outsourced services for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and consumer health industry.   • Must satisfactorily complete all requirements for Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician I
  • Ensure that during all packaging operations the site's safety, quality and compliance metrics are met or surpassed while meeting corporate and site standards and policies
  • Able to execute clinical and commercial batch records in both primary and secondary packaging areas
  • Maintain and stay current on all necessary training required to support both primary and secondary packaging operations in Compliance Wire and all other GMP and work-related class room training
  • Develop skills necessary to work with and clean all semi-automated and automated pieces of equipment
  • Accurately review packaging batch records prior to packaging process to ensure processing instructions are followed in accordance with SOPs
  • Prepare, complete and correct documentation following GDP and in compliance with SOPs and cGMP The Candidate Education or Equivalent:
    • High School degree or equivalent Experience:
      • Clinical trial packaging or related manufacturing/operations experience preferred
      • Successful completion of the Technician I training program required Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
        • Hygiene and gowning procedures will be strictly adhered to
        • Able to mix and handle cleaning detergents for cleaning processing areas and packaging equipment
        • High aptitude for cleanliness in their work space - Requires high attention to detail
        • Clean associated packaging equipment and packaging room(s) in compliance with SOPs
        • Follows all site safety, human resource and security policies
        • Must be on time for work and meetings, start of shift, and return timely from all breaks from work
        • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English effectively
        • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
        • Ability to work in a team environment
        • Must be self-motivated and possess above average organizational skills in alignment with 5S standards
        • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet competing workplace demands while maintaining the highest level of quality in all work performed
        • Basic math and computer skills - including, but not limited to e-mail, Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer Physical Requirements:
          • Stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate, and reach with hands and arms for up to 8 - 10 hours per day
          • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen
          • Able to work with respirator (P100, PAPR, etc.)
          • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds including stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
          • Will be required to operate a manual pallet jack and may become licensed to operate the scissor lift, as needed
          • Must be available to work overtime based on business needs.
          • 20/20 corrected vision and able to distinguish all colors
          • Handling of controlled substance product - a background check and further DEA screening is required
          • Position requires ability to spend extended periods of time in the following GMP environments:
            • Controlled Room Temperature 68 degrees F - 77 degrees F (15 degrees C - 25 degrees C)
            • Refrigerator 35 degrees F - 46 degrees F (2 degrees C - 8 degrees C)
            • Freezer -4 degrees F (-20 degrees C)
            • Highly active containment area (Potent Drug Facility) (respirator fit testing and pulmonary physical required) We will identify candidates based on the following:
