Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Kansas City,
Missouri. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU -

Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights -

years of recent specialty experience required with full year of
in-specialty experience within past 12 months • Travel experience
required - first-timers not accepted • 8 weekend shifts required in
6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday) •
Patient ratio of 5:1 for days and nights • Regular floating
required between departments, units and facilities as needed • Must
hold both Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license •
Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS • Epic charting system
experience required • Care for patients who have undergone
bariatric surgery, urology cases, hepatobiliary procedures,
colorectal surgeries, and trauma patients • Manage post-operative
pain control via epidural, PCA, ketamine drip, and lidocaine
infusion • Handle multiple surgical drains including JP drains,
chest tubes, feeding tubes, and wound vac management • Skills
required include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation
and management, continuous bladder irrigation, PICC line
management, and IV insertion • Must be comfortable with isolation
precautions, wound care, and rapid response/code team utilization •
Maximum 7 days request time off allowed • Guaranteed 3 shifts per
13-week contract • Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric
patient populations • Complete Epic training modules and infusion
pump/glucometer training prior to start date Facility: This
healthcare facility operates a specialized stepdown unit focusing
on complex surgical and trauma cases. The facility provides
comprehensive post-operative care for patients undergoing advanced
surgical procedures including bariatric, urological, hepatobiliary,
and colorectal surgeries. The unit maintains a daily census of
approximately 20 patients and utilizes Epic electronic health
records system. The facility emphasizes interdisciplinary care and
maintains high standards for clinical competency and patient
