Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Rotating Weekends Nurse-to-Patient
Ratio: 6:1 Employment Type: Full-Time About the Facility A hospital
and Level I Trauma Center located in Kansas City, MO is seeking an
experienced Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) for its Ortho/Neuro
Trauma Med-Surg unit. The hospital provides comprehensive medical
services including emergency care, stroke services, cardiovascular
programs, women’s health, orthopedics, and specialty trauma care.
The facility is part of a well-established multi-hospital
healthcare system serving the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Position Summary The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and
delivers high-quality, patient-centered care while coordinating all
clinical and operational functions within the unit during the
designated shift. In collaboration with the leadership team, the
CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance
with established policies and procedures. This role serves as a
clinical resource for staff and supports a patient-first philosophy
to enhance both clinical outcomes and overall departmental
performance. Responsibilities Assist with admission and discharge
processes to ensure efficient patient throughput. Participate in
quality improvement initiatives and ongoing assessment of patient
care services. Collaborate with leadership and subject matter
experts to promote teamwork and improved outcomes. Support patient
satisfaction initiatives and service recovery when necessary.
Promote staff engagement strategies including employee rounding and
hourly patient rounds. Provide input on interviewing, hiring,
onboarding, and training of new staff. Support staff development,
conflict resolution, performance evaluations, and policy
compliance. Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor resources
according to patient care needs. Support inventory control and
management of supplies and equipment. Ensure compliance with
hospital standards, regulatory requirements, and clinical best
practices. Required Qualifications Strong current acute care
Med-Surg experience required. Preferred: Previous experience as a
Charge RN in an acute care Med-Surg unit OR Minimum of 2 years
recent experience as a staff RN in Med-Surg . Experience must be
recent and actively practiced. Graduate of an accredited school of
nursing (RN Diploma required). Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
preferred. Active RN license in Missouri or compact license
eligibility. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) – Required within 30
days of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required
within 30 days of hire. Participation in professional nursing
organizations encouraged. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:
$35.65 – $47.64 per hour (Maximum range considered for candidates
with approximately 18 years of experience) Additional Benefits May
