families in crisis. Position Summary: As an Admission Resource
Nurse , you will provide professional nursing care to clients
during the admission process through comprehensive assessments and
timely documentation. You will also collaborate with various
departments to ensure safe, high-quality care and offer leadership
and support to nursing staff during your shift. Key
Responsibilities: Patient Admission & Coordination Complete nursing
admission assessments and documentation within required timelines.
Collaborate with psychiatry, medical, and nursing teams to evaluate
and coordinate admissions. Support inpatient and residential units;
may carry a caseload during high census periods. Clinical &
Medication Duties Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Receive and transcribe doctor’s orders accurately and promptly.
Monitor health concerns and report symptoms to physicians. Apply
first aid as needed; use equipment like EEGs and glucometers
appropriately. Communicate dietary changes and allergies to
appropriate staff. Documentation & Communication Maintain accurate
records in charts, medication logs, and shift reports. Clearly
document nursing consults, treatments, and patient updates. Support
effective shift-to-shift communication among staff. Team Leadership
& Support Serve as a resource and mentor to new or less experienced
nursing staff. Participate in safety/code response during
behavioral crises. Assist with staff onboarding, training, and peer
reviews. Patient Advocacy & Support Conduct educational and hygiene
groups. Assist with patient and family education on
medical/psychiatric needs. Uphold and model KVC’s commitment to

Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years old. Graduate of an
accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Current Registered Nurse
(RN) license in the State of Kansas . Valid driver’s license and
auto insurance . Three to six months of nursing experience or a
combination of education and training. Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, hear, and use hands and arms.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral
vision. Work Environment: Moderate noise level with occasional
