PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Kansas City, Missouri, 64154! Job Title:

Required Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care in the
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Patient ratios during the day
will typically be 1:2. The RN will be responsible for monitoring
patients recovering from anesthesia. Duties include recognizing and
managing dysrhythmias. The RN will administer narcotics,
analgesics, and reversal agents as required. Experience with
various types of anesthesia, including conscious sedation and
general anesthesia, is necessary. The RN will perform pain
assessment and management. Surgical cases may include cardiac, ENT,
general, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, and urology.
Weekend shifts will be required, typically one every six weeks. The
RN may be required to float to different departments and units as
needed. On-call duties will include one night per week and one
weekend every six weeks. The work environment includes
ambulatory/outpatient, inpatient, and pre-post care settings.
Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as IV
teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. The
patient age groups range from adolescents to adults, including
pediatrics. The daily census in the unit averages around 16
patients. The RN should be proficient in Epic charting system.
References from previous employment are required for submission.
Candidates must have a full year of in-specialty experience within
the past 12 months. Completion of required modules and training is
expected prior to the start date. Drug screening will be part of
the hiring process. A diluted or positive drug screen result will
lead to assignment cancellation. Laboratory tests must be completed
within 48-72 hours of signing. Infusion pump and glucometer
