Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - NICU Job Details: • Work in 5-bed Level II NICU admitting infants 34 weeks gestation and above • Maintain 1:2-3 patient ratios • Minimum 4-5 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule period • Minimum 2 Friday shifts per 6-week schedule period • 2 mandatory call shifts every 6-week schedule • Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed • Float to well newborn nursery/postpartum as required • Must have both Kansas and Missouri nursing licenses or compact license • 2 years of recent NICU specialty experience required • Required certifications: BLS, NRP (STABLE preferred) • Experience with neonates 29-34 weeks and >34 weeks • Skills required: blood glucose monitoring, gavage feedings, central line care, UAC/UVC care • Work with standard NICU equipment including IV pumps, phototherapy equipment, incubators • Assist with procedures including intubation, surfactant administration, chest tube placement • Provide stabilization and transfer support for higher acuity newborns • Support well newborn assessments when no NICU census • Cross-training to attend deliveries preferred but not required • 12 hours orientation provided • Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed • 3 guaranteed shifts per 13-week contract Facility: This healthcare facility operates a Level II NICU specializing in the care of infants born at 34 weeks gestation and above.
