Vascular Access Registered Nurse (VA-RN) provides services to
inpatients and outpatients who require specialized assistance for
placement and/or maintenance of vascular access devices. Based on
individualized assessment of vascular access needs, the VA-RN
selects the appropriate device and insertion site. The VA-RN serves
as a resource for patients, families, and staff for maintenance of
vascular access devices; in order to decrease risk of
complications, including blood stream infections. The VA-RN
identifies and meets the educational needs of patients, families,

discussed with Human Resources. /n/nResponsibilities:/n - Provides
vascular access services to inpatients and outpatients who require
specialized services for insertion and maintenance of vascular
access devices. - Serves as a resource for patients, families, and
staff for maintenance of vascular access devices, decreasing risk
of complications, including blood stream infections - Identifies
and meets the educational needs of patients, families, and staff.
/n/nQualifications:/n - Associate's Degree ADN Required. Current
employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and
permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role. and 2-3
years of experience as an RN (preferably in a hospital or nursing
home setting). Insertion of PICC/midline vascular access devices;
Use of ultrasound guidance; CVC management; CLABSI prevention;
basic data collection preferred. - Bachelor's Degree Preferred for
all nurses hired after September 1, 2013. Nurses hired after this
date without a BSN must complete their degree within 5 years of
their hire date. and 2-3 years of experience as an RN (preferably
in a hospital or nursing home setting). Insertion of PICC/midline
vascular access devices; Use of ultrasound guidance; CVC
management; CLABSI prevention; basic data collection preferred. -
One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse
Multistate License Kansas required upon hire - One of the
following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License
Missouri required upon hire - Refer to Nursing and Advanced
Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required
Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire - Specialty
Certification relevant to unit’s patient population (determined by
Nurse Manager/Director required after one year Required 1 Year

pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job
begins at $32.45/hr, but your offer will be determined based on
