Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Kansas City, MO Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,229 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of recent specialty experience required - Ability to float between departments, units, and facilities as needed Description: This position involves providing patient care in a surgical intermediate unit. The primary patient population includes those who have undergone bariatric surgery and various urological procedures. Experience with hepatobiliary, colorectal surgeries, and trauma patients is essential. Nurses will manage patients post-operatively, utilizing pain control techniques such as Epidurals and PCA. Candidates must be proficient in wound care, including Wound Vac changes. Regular patient ratios are anticipated, typically around 5 patients per nurse. Weekend shifts will be required, totaling 8 in a 6-week schedule. Floating between departments and facilities may be required. A strong teamwork approach is essential, with interdisciplinary support expected. Two professional references are required, with one from a supervisor level. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to adhere to strict compliance regulations regarding drug screening and module completion. This role will provide the opportunity to work with a diverse patient group, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
