ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Kansas City, Missouri. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per schedule period with 3 weekend shifts required • Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 • Float to other Medical-Surgical level units including General MS, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma (contract labor floats first) • Work with traction, fixators, and cooling equipment • Use Meditech documentation system • RN license and BLS certification required • Orthopedic experience required along with telemetry and NIH skills • Care for post-operative knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients • Manage trauma patients and some neurology overflow patients • Perform bedside shift reports and hourly rounding as part of patient experience requirements • Required to wear navy scrubs • Work alongside unit secretaries and PCTs for support Facility: This medical facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center specializing in advanced orthopedic and trauma care. The 6 East Ortho/Trauma unit features 23 beds dedicated to providing comprehensive care for orthopedic procedures and trauma patients. The facility maintains high standards for patient care with specialized equipment including traction devices, fixators, and cooling equipment to support complex orthopedic and trauma cases.
