Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP; AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN
Intermediate preferred. Must-Have: Community hospital experience
preferred. Ability to work weekends and holiday shifts. Experience
in labor and delivery management. Comfortable floating within the
scope to meet facility needs. Full couplet care experience
required. Description: The Registered Nurse will provide
comprehensive care in the labor and delivery unit. Responsibilities
include managing labor and delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
The nurse will administer medications and perform various
procedures including IV therapy and newborn assessments. Skills in
fetal monitoring and neonatal care are essential. The ability to
assist with both vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections is
required. The nurse will participate in postpartum education and
support initiatives. Understanding of pain management techniques is
important. Candidates must be comfortable with emergency situations
and respond effectively. The role requires adherence to safety and
infection control protocols. Collaboration with interdisciplinary
teams is necessary for optimal patient outcomes. Nurses will also
provide education to parents and support breastfeeding initiatives.
Candidates should have experience working in a community hospital
setting with a low patient volume. The ability to prioritize tasks
in a high-pressure environment is crucial. Documentation in the
designated charting system is required. This position involves a
rotation of weekend shifts and on-call responsibilities as
