Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty preferred License: Must possess a valid nursing license for the required state Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in Surgical Intensive Care Unit - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias - Knowledge in multi-system organ failure - Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization intervention - Familiarity with pulmonary artery line monitoring - Competence in sheath removal and IV insulin protocols - Experience managing chronic/acute renal failure - Proficiency in CVVHD/CRRT - Ability to access ports and manage arterial lines - Experience with blood product administration - Expertise in central line care and management - Skills in starting IVs and administering continuous IV sedation - Capability to assist with procedural sedation - Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips - Knowledge in CVA/acute stroke management - Familiarity with hypothermia protocols - Skills assisting with BiPAP and CPAP management - Ability to assist with chest tube insertion and removal - Experience caring for ventilated patients - Knowledge of high flow nasal cannula - Skills in suctioning procedures - Understanding of infection prevention and isolation precautions - Proficiency in phlebotomy - Experience managing surgical wounds with drains and wound vac Description: The position involves providing care to critically ill patients in an Intensive Care Unit. Registered Nurses will be responsible for assessing patient needs and implementing care plans. The nurse will work alongside an interdisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient care. Critical thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure are essential. The role may require floating to other units based on patient care needs. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required. Must adhere to infection prevention protocols and safety guidelines. The candidate will care for adult and geriatric populations.
