Pay Information $1,887 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Ortho experience Telemetry experience NIH skills are helpful Description: This is a Med Surg nursing position on an orthopedic and trauma unit. The unit has 23 beds with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5. Unit secretaries and patient care technicians are available on the unit. Type of equipment used includes traction, fixators, and cooling equipment. The documentation system in use is Meditech. Scheduling requirements include working three 12-hour shifts and three weekend shifts per schedule period. Floating to other Med Surg levels of care units will occur, with contract labor being the first to float. The focus is on patient experience, with bedside shift reports and hourly rounding expected. Post-operative procedures include knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, and care for trauma patients, along with some neuro overflow. Nursing staff are expected to meet the unit guidelines and policies for best practices.
