Hospital Medicine The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is
recruiting full-time, experienced pediatric advanced practice
providers with strong clinical skills, and an interest in academic
medicine. The candidate will participate in clinical, educational,
and quality improvement initiatives within the Division. Mastery of
skills such as professionalism, team-based care, care of children
with medical complexity, and effective communication are mandatory.
The Division is currently made up of more than 40 physicians and 6
hospital medicine fellows. The clinical practice occurs within our
tertiary care facility described and within our CMH community site,
which is also included below. Children's Mercy Hospital (Adele Hall
Campus) is an urban, tertiary care/academic children's hospital
with full pediatric medical/surgical support. This role would
include 24/7 direct care on a hospitalist-only team comprised of
medically complex and diverse general pediatric patients. Fellows,
medical students, and residents on elective may be part of the
team. Children's Mercy Kansas is a unique, free-standing community
children's hospital located 12 miles southwest of Children's Mercy
Hospital. The hospital serves a breadth of pediatric diagnoses with
lower acuity than our main campus. Clinical service on this campus
offers a complementary clinical experience, featuring a
professionally stimulating, direct interaction with pediatric
professionals in our busy on-site pediatric emergency department,
as well as in our community referral area. Advanced Practice
Registered Nurses II (APRN-II) provides proficient, comprehensive,
evidence-based advanced practice nursing to address the
physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and
families within the framework of the collaborative practice
agreement. An APRN II obtains a comprehensive health history;
performs physical examination; formulates a plan of care and
treatment; prescribes/performs diagnostic and therapeutic
interventions and procedures; and participates in patient and
family education. Each APRN-II demonstrates professional leadership
and participates in evidenced-based practice, quality improvement,
and/or research activities, and organizational development. At
Children's Mercy, we are committed to ensuring that everyone feels
welcomed within our walls. A successful candidate for this position
will join us as we strive to create a workplace that reflects the
community we serve, as well as our core values of kindness,
curiosity, inclusion, team and integrity. Additionally, it's
important to us that we remain transparent with all potential job
candidates. Because we value the safety of the patients and
families we serve, as well as the Children's Mercy staff, we want
to let you know that the seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition
of employment for all employees in our organization. New employees
must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles,
mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without
evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap)
vaccination since 2005. If you become a finalist for this position,
and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical
and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human
Resources. Responsibilities
