expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsAbout this unit:Cardiac
Telemetry nurses assess acute changes in patients. They monitor and
analyze the heart rhythm of patients, interpret ECGs, note
arrhythmias, and intervene in emergency situations. They have
high-level critical thinking skills, vast clinical knowledge, and
are able to stay calm under pressure. Our Cardiac Telemetry unit is
unique in that our nurses take care of patients recovering from
open heart surgeries, heart catheterization with stent placement,
ablations, pace maker/AICD placement, cardiovascular surgeries and
we are a comprehensive stoke/stemi facility. -Who are we
- Two separate 29-bed units, specializing in the care of cardiac
patientsTypes of patients we care for
- Acute and chronic heart failure
- Electrophysiology (pacemaker, ablation)
- Structural heart (mitral clip, TAVR, TMVR, watchmen, valve
angioplasty)
- Post operative day one open heart surgery -patients
- Post cardiac catheterizationWhat makes us special

physician-led education regarding care of cardiac patients to

in the cardiac progressive care units is a great way to build your
critical thinking and skills. Nurses from our departments grow into
areas such as ICU, cardiac cath lab, EP lab, or leadership. The
leaders of these departments work with you to ensure that they
understand your goals and provide you with -opportunities to learn
more about positions you may be interested. We work collaboratively
with other departments in the facility to ease any transition you
are interested in making. Typically nurses are able to successfully
progress to other positions or departments in 18 to 24 months. No
matter what your goal is, your leader will take an active approach

Stroke- Gold Plus What you will do in this role:
- Assess patient condition during admission and during each
shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient
status.
- Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical
provider.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical
record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications and
monitors response.
- Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment
used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.What
qualifications you will need:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months of
employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of
employment start date
- Registered Nurse
- Registered Nurse Diploma is a 585+ bed hospital. Our hospital
offers an array of medical and health clinic services. This
includes women's services offering obstetrics and fertility, an
emergency room, and a trauma center. We offer a Stroke Center, a
walk-in clinic, and orthopedics across three Kansas City locations.
