Responsibilities Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, positive patient interaction, proper collection, and specimen integrity according to established operating procedures. Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory and proficiently handle all specimens received in the lab. Inoculate media for microbiology testing. Limited clinical testing required Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately and prioritizes work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times. May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned. Interpret physician orders and order tests in the appropriate system. Assisting clients with lab ordering and other troubleshooting. Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures: (i.e., Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, and Quality Assurance Manual); and ensure that all staff members follow instructions. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned.
