Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Clinical Placement Coordinator actively and continuously
assesses and directs the clinical placement of inpatients working
collaboratively with all patient care areas within the Hospital as
well as the Admitting Department, Patient Relations, Environmental
Services, Patient Transport and the Transfer Center. This position
oversees the clinical flow and throughput across the organization
with a focus on the efficient and effective assignment of patients
to maximize quality and service to all patients and families.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates ability to make bed assignments which assure safe,
appropriate and efficient care/service for every patient, adhering
to administrative guidelines considering factors such as: infection
control, physician, or patient requirement for suitable bed
placement and escalating to a Clinical Placement Coordinator when
necessary.
Assesses situations which could delay in the initiation of patient
care and notifies appropriate personnel.
Effectively communicates with nursing and admitting staff to
provide bed assignment decisions as well as assess current bed
situations.
Knowledge of medical procedures, treatment modalities, diagnoses,
and associated terminology.
Working knowledge of medical and allied health sciences.
Ability to maintain rapport with Attending Physician, house staff,
nursing personnel and other health care professionals.
Identifies patient/family service issues and escalates
appropriately to ensure follow-up and satisfaction resolution.
Maintains strict confidentiality and professionalism in all
interactions.

BSN in Nursing
Minimum 2 years RN experience
