Overview
Provide accurate and complete interpretation services to facilitate
oral communication between Limited English Proficiency (LEP)
patients, families and CM staff. Supports patient safety and
ensures that LEP individuals have meaningful access to information
and equal opportunity to participate in services.

Responsibilities
+ Provide accurate, complete and impartial interpretation services
for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) patients, family members and
CM staff.
+ Models exemplary customer service through the delivery of
interpretation services to patients, families and CM staff that is
consistent with the philosophy, mission, vision and values of the
department and organization.
+ Essential Function: Performs other duties and participates in
other projects or committees that support hospital and departmental
priorities or activities.
Qualifications
+ HS diploma or equivalent High school diploma and graduate of a
recognized medical interpreter training program (Community College,
Bridging the Gap, SBA or equivalent) and 1-2 years experience
Direct experience as a medical Interpreter or in a position that
required bi-lingual ability in the medical field. Passing score on
language skills competency exam, bilingual interview and role
playing.
+ National Certification Preferred
Starting Pay
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job
begins at $19.52/hr, but your offer will be determined based on
your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home
This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the
person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our
Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
