  • Demonstrate understanding of Code Blue and Rapid Response procedures
  • Perform ABGs and process according to department procedure, understand results and take appropriate action
  • Demonstrates ability to operate bedside spirometry equipment,
  • Demonstrate ability to initiate, maintain, and discontinue BIPAP,
  • Demonstrate ability to prepare for and assist with bronchoscopy,
  • Demonstrate proficiency with multiple devices i.e. EzPAP, Flutter Valve, PEP, Theravest/Smart Vest, Acapella and Incentive Spirometry,
  • Demonstrate ability to initiate and operate the Draeger Ventilator,
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the set-up and operation of the iVent,
  • Demonstrate ability to identify appropriate, initiate and document in hospital IPOCS,
  • Demonstrates understanding of the population we serve i.e. neonate/infant, geriatric, COPD, Pneumonia, Non-English Speaking,
  • Demonstrate ability and proficiency to order. perform, confirm and post ECGs in patients chart Qualifications
    What You Will Need:
    Associates Degree or Graduate of a Technical School Up to 1 Year of Experience NICU Experience 2 years clinical experience for new grads acceptable in lieu of 1 year of work experience Kansas Respiratory Therapist License BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association NRP if working in the NICU Job Summary: The Respiratory Therapist provides direct respiratory care to patients in all areas of the hospital as outlined in Pulmonary Services procedure manual. Is knowledgeable in providing and evaluating the routine as well as critical care modes of respiratory care. Responsible for the effective and optimal administration of modalities based upon assessment and evaluation. Provides recommendations and/or changes to care based on patients current status.
