Will conduct all activities related to screening patients for COVID19: patient registration in EPIC EMR, insurance verification, point of care test specimen collection/processing, notifying patient of results, educate patient on appropriate next steps based on test results. Additional responsibilities include maintaining infection control and lab processing requirements. Testing location will be based at Health locations, either inside the store or in a separate kiosk structure in the parking lot. Required PPE will be available as appropriate. Although the candidate may be assigned to one particular location, travel may be required to nearby locations based on staffing needs. Assignment extension may be possible on a case-by-case basis depending on location and community testing needs. Experience Minimum of two years of medically-relevant experience or equivilant. Completed accredited DOT certificate training program prior to start date. Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills. Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Initiative, problem solving ability, adaptability and flexibility. Ability to work without direct supervision and practice autonomously Position Summary The MinuteClinic Nurse Practitioner delivers defined patient care services in a COVID testing site. ONLY NP WILL BE CONSIDERED - NO PAs FOR THIS ROLE. This is a COVID testing role in a MinuteClinic location in a retail setting. Important information about the POCT NP RoleOCT NPs will be operating under their RN license for the entire duration of the assignment since their sole job function will be performing COVID-19 testing. In EPIC (electronic health record), POCT NPs' credentials will identify them as an RN and not an NP. This is not an error and should not attempt to be changed. POCT NPs will be working with an additional MinuteClinic Provider (NP/PA) who will provide oversight, finalize results, and cosign orders. POCT NPs are required to sign the POC Tester Limited Service Attestation that reiterates the job description, specifies the testing role, and reiterates the expectation of working under the RN license. The attestation must be signed prior to starting the assignment. Additional details to remember: POC NPs will be required to test patients for COVID at a testing site. The most common testing model is a kiosk located outside /MinuteClinic retail location. Typically there are 5 patients scheduled per hour. This is NOT a work from home role nor is it a vaccination administration role. Education Completion of a: Masters Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role required.Or, in select states, Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or other health-related Masters Degree in conjunction with Bachelors of Science in Physician Assistant Studies) with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the role required.
