Job Description

This position s purpose is to partner with the business unit leaders to align, develop and deliver the IT roadmap and strategy that supports the business unit roadmap and strategy. The incumbent will lead the planning, implementation, adoption, and benefits realization for technology initiatives tied to the IT roadmap supporting the business unit strategy. This position is the main point of contact between the business and IT. This position is a member of the IT and business unit leadership team.

For the technologies that have been defined as enterprise, the incumbent will participate in the update of the roadmap and represent the business requirements from commercial manufacturing and FMIC. The VP, IT Commercial Businesses will participate in the planning and implementation of IT initiatives within the business units and will act as the sponsor of these initiatives. This role is also responsible for the implementation of business unit specific systems (e.g. Office 365, Internet, SAP). Specifically, the incumbent will ensure that implementations of BU specific systems are executed on time and on budget, the benefits are realized, and support is transitioned to shared application support where applicable. This position develops and facilitates relationships throughout the business units to ensure that business technology and IT shared services are enabling business goals.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Alignment

* Lead the development of the business unit technology roadmap, leveraging the enterprise technology governance model

* Lead the prioritization of IT initiatives within the business unit, and coordinate the deployment and effectiveness of current and future IT systems across the business units

* Participate in the strategic and operational governance processes of the business units

* Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by ensuring benefits realization, business adoption of new and existing IT business technology

* Provide leadership and management of DFA IT and business unit project staff assigned to the initiatives within the business unit

* Develop a power user network within the business unit to ensure to develop the knowledge of business processes and business technology within business unit

* Work with business leaders to define business requirements for business technology initiatives.

* Work with business unit leadership to develop business cases for the implementation of new and existing technologies

* Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate executives and management of the impact of It investment on their competitive or financial impact

* Develop and track annual operating and capital budgets

* Communicate plans, policies, and standards from IT shares services for the acquisition, implementation, support and operations of IT systems

* Assess and communicate risks associated with IT investments

* Direct develop and test a business unit wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan for IT

Technology Alignment

* For shared applications and technology services, define and plan projects and set priorities in collaboration with the business unit leadership and the IT shared services teams

* For IT security, work with the CISO and VP-Corporate Technology Services to increase security awareness within the BU and ensure that BU technology adheres to the DFA security standards

* For service design, work with shared technology and application services to align service design and service cost to business needs

* Work with shared services leadership to ensure business gets value out of the shared services and adopts the operating procedures

* Work with IT shared service leadership to identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development

* Work with IT shared services leadership to ensure IT system operations adheres to applicable laws and regulations for business unit

* Work with IT to ensure adherence to the IT Operating and Governance Model

Leadership

* Develop and maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business

* Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of staff in accordance with budget objectives and personnel policies

Requirements

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

*

Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Business Administration
*

Master s degree in one these fields preferred
*

15+ years IT experience
*

10+ years IT-related management experience
*

Experience in food-related manufacturing and/or distribution industries preferred
*

Certification and/or License N/A

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Strong knowledge of information systems and technology, including:

* Proven experience leading or participating in a successful ERP implementation

* Experience with business intelligence tools and implementations

* Experience with and ability to analyze cost/benefit of internal development of software compared to purchase of third-party software

* Strong oral and written communication skills ability to effectively exchange ideas and information; demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff:

* Proven ability to present a positive and professional image of the department

* Ability to understand business requirements and utilize IT knowledge to offer solutions and alternatives to business issues

* Ability to articulate complex technical issues in language that is understandable to non-IT business users and executives. Able to summarize and present recommendations in a concise format

* Self-motivated and results-oriented, with proven proclivity for action; able to translate broad general strategies to actionable items; able to balance careful planning and preparation with continuous progress towards completion of goals.

* Experienced manager, with record of progressive management responsibilities:

* Strong project management skills, with ability to manage large portfolio of projects, set priorities, and follow-up on progress

* Good general management skills, including ability to manage conflict, negotiate, build and motivate teams, develop succession plans, manage change, solve problems, delegate, and make decisions
