Company is hiring a Regional CFO to lead our Central Regional Finance team and be responsible for the accounting and internal controls, financial planning, and financial reporting for the Central Region. As a senior advisor to the Regional Publisher, the Regional CFO will drive business results through financial discipline and integrity and will work closely with the Corporate Controller, the Corporate Planning Director, and the local finance professionals to ensure timely delivery of financial information to the business.
To be successful in this role you: Have a strong understanding of accounting and finance activities, finance processes, and business operations. Are a financial executive experienced in managing diverse operations, exercising sound judgment, and applying sound financial and business practices. The Regional CFO Responsibilities: Direct and oversee the finance and accounting functions of the region. Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the region, including the income statement and balance sheet reports. Facilitate continuous improvement of the team’s finance processes. Ensure resources are available for teams to produce on-time, quality product and /or services Provide input and lead the transition to new Corporate-wide systems. Coordinate annual internal/external audit and AAM audit. Coordinate with all centralized accounting activities, such as audience & advertising accounting to ensure proper accounting in the region. Coordinate financial analyses and intercompany charges for the regional VPs of Audience, Production & HR. Support and facilitate standardization efforts related to financial reporting & accounting and financial planning & analysis. Serve as a key conduit for the proliferation of best practices related to operational efficiencies and potential operating cash flow improvement initiatives. Be a partner to the local publishers for any local reporting needs Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives as to identify their needs and seek full range of financial and business solutions. Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. Regularly test and report on internal controls systems. Supervise the finance and administration staff, providing mentorship, assessment and opportunities for professional development. Ensure that the finance region is results driven, compliant, and focused on effective channels of communication with internal and external customers. QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance 10+ years of experience with progressively responsible financial leadership roles. Strong GAAP background and Sarbanes-Oxley knowledgeable. Experience and leadership to challenge current practices and lead process improvements. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization. Must be able to lead with diplomacy, tact, and agility, and demonstrate a high level of sophistication, cultural competencies and discernment. Leverages strong business and financial acumen and analytical capability to drive business results. Exceptional strategic leadership skills and interpersonal and relationship-development abilities. Strong track record of effectively coaching and positively influencing senior leaders. Builds credibility and relationships and is a strong collaborator. Demonstrates courage and willingness to take risks to deliver outstanding results. Outstanding analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills. PC proficiency is essential (Google and Windows environment) including a strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint Preferred: 5+ years of Media Industry experience CPA/MBA
