To achieve this, we are building a team that can deploy next-generation, agile, business configurable tools throughout our business operations.Sun Life is seeking an experienced, proactive and energetic Associate Director to lead this group. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team in delivering and supporting workflow management and artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) solutions. Reporting to the Head of Robotics & Digital Enablement, the Digital Enablement Associate Director will be accountable for solution innovation as well as providing strong technical and people leadership.The Digital Enablement Associate Director is a member of the Robotics & Digital Enablement team within US Group Benefits Client Services. The role is responsible for identifying and delivering agile solutions across the US businesses, using a variety of tools and technologies. - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Main Accountabilities:

  • Propose, build, deploy and support modern workflow and AI / ML solutions to solve business challenges
  • Manage a team of Process Analysts, Business Systems Analysts (BSAs), Technical Consultants and Support Analysts to successfully deliver high-value new projects, as well as support solutions that were previously deployed to business users
  • Collaborate closely with process improvement consultants to provide feedback and architectural recommendations for new automation opportunities
  • Ensure the team is optimizing its output without compromising on quality, and that projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Act as a thought leader in identifying new tools and technologies that will enable the team to deliver low-cost, high-value solutions; help team members quickly learn and adapt these tools
  • Partner closely with the US IT organization, Compliance and business risk officers to ensure new solutions are properly evaluated, supported and governed
  • Design and oversee a robust production support model for deployed solutions that prevents disruption to end users
  • Provide budget oversight of the program to ensure that costs are aligned with estimates and allow us to achieve our target ROIs
  • Oversee vendor relationships and contracts to ensure strong value and support are delivered within budgets
  • Establish credibility and maintain strong relationships with key business partners, and help educate the organization on how next generation technology solutions can help digitize our internal operations and provide exceptional client serviceWhat you will need to succeed:
    • Strong technical background and experience leading agile operational teams is required
    • An entrepreneurial mindset focused on providing business solutions that deliver concrete value to end users and clients
    • A strong understanding of financial services business processes and how next generation technologies can rapidly optimize them for employees and clients
    • Eagerness to tackle new challenges, devise creative solutions, and learn new tools and technologies

    • Strong relationship management skills and an ability to foster collaborative partnerships with leaders across various business areas

    • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins
    • Sound understanding of leading Saas, Cloud platforms and capabilities
    • Knowledge of Lean methodology and best practices is desired
    • Experience within the insurance industry preferred
    • Periodic travel may be required
    • Some project work may be required outside of regular office hours to support critical timelines and deliverables, as well as collaboration with Sun Life teams in other regionsRequired Education and Skills: -
      • 4+ years of hands-on experience of implementing ML solutions like vision understanding, cognitive, NLU/NLG, ML models on any of leading cloud platforms like AWS (preferably), Azure, GCP, etc.
      • Fluency in R, Python, Scala, Java, C/C++, or other programming languages to demonstrate the results of algorithmic approaches.
      • Proficiency with machine learning libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Tensorflow and/or PyTorch
      • Demonstrated experience of driving productivity through the application of next generation workflow and AI / ML solutions
      • Good knowledge and understanding of AI/ML model families, including neural net, decision trees, Bayesian models, deep learning algorithms (LSTM, CNN etc.)
      • Experience designing and deploying workflow and case management solutions such as Jira, DocuSign, ZenDesk, Salesforce.com, and Alchemer and integrating them using MuleSoft, Zapier or similar business configurable technologies
      • Experience in building and deploying AI/ML models in enterprise production environments/large scale projects with modern light weight design
      • Experience in APIs, micro-service and serverless architectures
