Job Description
TRC is seeking a residential new construction an Associate Project
Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a
combination of construction or HVAC knowledge and customer service
to build and maintain relationships with builders, developers, and
contractors serving the single family and multifamily new
construction markets. As a program ambassador for energy-saving
utility programs, you will serve as the first point of contact for
the program, engaging customers through phone, email, online, and
in-person meetings and events (pending COVID-19 restrictions). You
will also be responsible for providing technical assistance and
reviews, identifying electrification, decarbonization, and
energy-efficiency opportunities for projects, while cultivating and
maintaining relationships with key industry stakeholders.
THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION*
As part of TRC's residential programs team, your responsibilities
will include:
External Outreach
Communicating with prospective customers and industry influencers
(architects, energy consultants, HERS rates) regarding program
opportunities
Coordinating directly with developers and building contractors on
program details
Supporting and collaborating with utility client outreach staff to
engage public organizations and market stakeholders as
necessary
Actively engaging appropriate trade groups and associations to
promote program offerings and services
Technical Review And Guidance
Performing project site visits to verify projected energy savings
and installation
Conducting desktop technical reviews of project documents
Internal Coordination And Project Support
Providing program recommendations to our internal teams based on
market intelligence and customer trends
Working with internal team members to populate our customer
database to provide project forecasting, market knowledge, customer
information, and project documentation.
Outreach and travel within the territory using your personal
vehicle (mileage and travel costs will be reimbursed)
Qualifications
Strong customer service skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making
capabilities
Highly effective communication in person, over email, and over the
phone
Self-driven team player
Desire to develop and maintain effective relationships with program
participants and energy efficiency influencers
Ability to effectively work across multiple internal teams
(technical, marketing, operations, etc.)
Excellent time management skills seeking additional opportunities
with new or repeat customers
Experience utilizing a CRM system or a similar system to
effectively track program and business development activities
Ability to track performance metrics to support program goals
Demonstrated experience with field-based activities and ability to
effectively work remote
Proficient to advanced knowledge of MS Office tools i.e., Outlook,
Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Skills And Experience Required
Associate degree and 2+ years of relevant experienceOR5+ years of
relevant experience
Ability to deliver on multiple competing priorities and
deadlines
Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a
reliable vehicle
Able to travel by car daily within assigned territory
Ideal Candidates Will Have
Knowledge of local laws and relevant building (Title 24), and
energy conservation codes.
Knowledge of electrical energy efficiency calculation and
terminology.
Experience with utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs.
Previous experience with energy efficiency technologies and how to
sell the benefits.
Experience and/or understanding of electric and gas utility
rates.
Experience and/or existing relationships within the new
construction industry.
Certifications and/or memberships related to the energy
industry.
