The Director of Retail Banking is a newly created position that will drive business transformation and growth of UMB's retail banking organization. The director will deliver strategic market-by-market execution with accountability for planning, delivery and performance monitoring of complex initiatives. The leader will identify target segments, develop delivery programs, and create consumer-facing market strategies to support and grow our footprint. Overall success will be measured by growth in deposits, loans, revenue, expense management and associate engagement. This candidate must have a proven track record in retail banking excellence, major banking program deployment, sales and service process design and leadership and building and executing upon a successful consumer bank distribution strategy, launching new markets, and leading multi-platform campaigns. How you'll spend your time:

• Refine and execute on the retail banking strategy to achieve key financial metrics including deposit, loan, and revenue growth, customer acquisition and retention, and expense management.
• Lead the retail banking teams across the UMB organization with accountability for all business outcomes.
• Partner with peer business heads (Mortgage, Private Bank) as well as properties, digital, analytics, operations and technology teams as well as other lines of business to give our customers access to solutions, strategies and expertise in one place to meet all of their financial needs.
• Influence the use of technology by effectively communicating a vision to meet customers' needs of today and the future.
• Execute upon business transformation and growth strategies, market expansion initiatives and develop new branch and market plans through a transformative lens; exhibits an entrepreneurial mind-set.
• Partner with the Director of Community Development and proactively engage community relationships across new markets.
• Serve as an ambassador for UMB and Consumer Banking and specifically, for the evolution of the business.
• Develop executive-level communications for division president and underlying research in support thereof.
• Collaborate with the division president, drive strategic roadmap development inclusive of quarterly tracking/reporting processes and metric definition and measurement for the Retail bank.
