What you'll do... JOB SUMMARY The Project Manager is key member of the Field Compliance team and has primary responsibility for a number of important aspects of the Field Compliance program (see Essential Duties). Measure and be accountable for the short- and long-term project results. Ensure that project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own overall responsibility for the success of assigned projects.
  • Perform statistical analysis to identify high risk tax return preparers (tax pros) with patterns of non compliance with Internal Revenue Code and/or company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed, complete, and accurate reports of findings.
  • Coordinate tax pro interviews with field leaders and provide recommended next steps based on findings.
  • Partner with Field leaders and Human Resources on cases of confirmed tax pro misconduct.
  • Partner with Fraud Unit to prevent and detect Refund Advance fraud both internally and externally.
  • Analyzes reports to monitor and identify tax return attributes indicative of fraud related to Refund Advance.
  • Support Incident Management team with field inquiries related to tax preparation, suspicious W-2's and Ethics concerns.
  • Monitors incoming IRS tax pro warning compliance letters for both company and franchise tax pros. Reviews tax pro's due diligence notes and statistical data and provides feedback to the Field pertaining to any knowledge gaps or red flags related to tax pro due diligence.
  • Actively manages the review process for all franchise buybacks and quality of work for potential acquisitions.
  • Collaborate, participate and work well within a team environment and during team meetings.
  • Respond timely to inquiries and conduct all necessary research to resolve cases.
  • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education / Experience Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
    • Two years project management experience.
    • Demonstrated decision-making, analytical and problem solving abilities.
    • Track record of establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
    • Effective written and oral presentation skills and facilitation skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of internal associates, external vendors and business partners.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, but with little formal supervision or guidance.
    • Effective supervisory skills in a matrix-management environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and project planning tools. About H&R Block...     • MBA, CPA or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner)
    • Knowledge of IRS procedures and tax preparation regulations
    • Demonstrated analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills What you'll bring to the team... Education:
      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or a related field. Work Experience:
        • 2 years Minimum related work experience
        • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and product planning tools.
        • Ability to work effectively in a diverse work group as a member of a team.
        • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated effectiveness in presenting complex information to multiple organizational levels, with strong facilitation and presentation skills.
        • Track record of establishing priorities and deadlines.
        • Demonstrated decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
