The End User Computing Engineer provides engineering-level support, technical expertise, planning and recommendations for client end-point supporting technologies, applications and system management tools in response to CMH's needs. The End User Computing Engineer acts as a Tier 4 resource to Desktop Support team, and works with internal IT teams to successfully deploy and maintain applications, operating systems and print services across CMH. The End User Computing Engineer implements infrastructure solutions in support of the desktop environment that provides value-added services and enables CMH to meet industry-best-practices for management and security (e.g., virtualization solutions, anti-virus, personal firewalls). The End User Computing Engineer is directly responsible for desktop solutions and products including hardware standards for desktops, notebooks, peripherals, operating systems, core builds and standard shrink-wrapped software such as Microsoft Office.

  • Design and manage the rollout of critical client end-point supporting technologies to support the company?s end users and services
  • Configure, administer, maintain, monitor, debug and tune desktop infrastructure systems to optimize systems performance.
  • Provide technical expertise to Desktop Support, Network, and Security departments to support the development of new product strategies and enhance existing client end-point supporting technologies.
  • Ensure that desktop infrastructure operational processes are fully documented and performed as required for internal service level agreements.
  • Evaluate new or existing technologies in relation to CMH?s infrastructure needs.


    • Bachelor's Degree and advanced problem solving skills acquired either through post-secondary education or through more extensive on-the-job experience are necessities and 1-2 years experience in Computer Science or related field of study, with a minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional experience, OR six years of verifiable, engineering-level work experience in a Desktop Infrastructure or comparable role or
    • HS diploma or equivalent or Associates degree and 3-5 years experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
    • Strong experience with MDM, Intune/Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Airwatch, JAMF
    • Strong experience with MAC OS, IOS, Android, Chrome OS, Win10
    • Experience with Auto Pilot, App Deployment, Conditional Access
    • 2-3 years of experience in PowerShell
    • Familiar with Compliance Policies and Configuration Profiles.
    • Familiar with Endpoint Analytics and the Microsoft Store for Business
    • Knowledgeable and comfortable around Group Policy, Active Directory, MDM Policy, Azure Active Directory
    • Being able to create consistent, clear, and precise documentation, following detailed procedures
    • Being creative and thinking outside the box to determine the best solution
    • Strong communication skills

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • 3-5 years of experience working in ConfigMgr
      • Experienced in creating, testing, and deploying applications within ConfigMgr, preferably Current Branch
      • Lean and DevOps Culture and Principles
      • Experience with automating repetitive task

        Remote Work/Work from Home
        This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his/her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and onsite hours at a Children's Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
