Summary

As the Senior Financial Analyst at our Utilimaster manufacturing facility in Kansas City, MO, you will be accountable for overseeing and managing all accounting operations for the plant. A significant portion of your role will involve developing periodic financial reports and maintaining an adequate accounting records system.

Your role as Senior Financial Analyst will also involve developing a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of The Shyft Group's reported financial results, and for ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

What you'll be doing

  • Financial Analysis: Strong financial analysis skills to identify trends and provide insight into the plant's financial performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Experience developing and managing budgets, forecasting future financial performance, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Cost Accounting: A deep understanding of cost accounting principles and methods.
  • GAAP and Compliance: Thoroughly understand generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and compliance regulations to ensure accurate and compliant financial records.
  • ERP Systems: Familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and inventory management.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to identify financial opportunities, support business objectives, and ensure smooth operations with other departments.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, or business administration (CPA certification preferred)
    • 6+ years of accounting experience
    • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
    • Working knowledge of forecasting and financial reports
    • Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
