A S enior Manager in our Real Estate Practice is responsible for leading a profitable assurance, tax and consulting area of the practice by leading the team, building the business and ensuring the team delivers exceptional client service. This role also supports the business development and growth initiatives of the practice and is responsible for retaining talented people through strong leadership coaching/mentoring relationships. Thi s position has the potential to take on a book of business and is intended to be on a path to Partner. Our Real Estate Practice services a high concentration of affordable housing owners and operators. In addition, we also service a diverse group of clients in the real estate industry including; commercial real estate developers, condominium and homeowner associations, developers, and property management companies. Qualifications

  • Bachelors or master's degree in Accounting or related curriculum
  • Active CPA accreditation
  • Has demonstrated proficiency as a Senior Manager in Public Accounting or equivalent experience Technical Abilities
    • A sense of urgency or promptness to achieve goals
    • Ability to complete assigned tasks accurately within budget and meet all deadlines
    • Provide supervision to staff
    • Become the main client contact on the majority of your jobs
    • Become actively involved with or highly proficient in a technical niche
    • Manage client contact
    • Become a recognized leader in the firm
    • High level of knowledge in Low Income Housing Tax Credit s
    • Review Partnership entity annual tax returns
    • Assist with tax planning for owners and family members
    • Understand and interpret complex legal documents such as: Partnership agreements, loan documents, development agreements and regulatory agreements
    • Preferred ability to r eview audited financial statements and related work papers for various real estate entities and identify exceptions to GAAP and regulatory standards
    • Serves as a trusted information resource to Principals within the firm Personal Development
      • Ability to step into a developed book of business
      • Advancement into Principal position in the firm.
      • Actively pursues the a rea of real estate specialization and develops broader business competencies
      • Ensures others' development needs and goals are incorporated into project assignments and scheduling
      • Makes stretch assignments and assigns special projects to others based on their goals and development needs Teamwork
        • Deploys project teams that include a variety of perspectives, experience and expertise
        • Calibrates the real estate practice workloads during busy times
        • Visibly seeks out and utilizes others' input to solve issues
        • Ensures engagements are coordinated across departments strategically to use teams expertise for the good of the firm and the client Community
          • Encourages team members to be involved in community events and outreach programs
          • Takes a leading role in firm sponsored community service events and outreach programs
          • Serves as a leader o n a committee or board of a community organization
          • Promotes the firms role in the community by ensuring staff are available to participate in community events
          • Helps identify community organizations and initiate events and outreach programs that are a fit with the firm Business Development
            • Regular meetings with key referral sources
            • Present to organizations on applicable topics and industries
            • Identify key strategic growth areas
