If you're looking for an exciting career opportunity as a Financial Operations Leader position with a diverse interdisciplinary team located in Kansas City, MO, as well as have strong skills forecasting budgets, bringing fiscal insight, and developing growth strategies with leadership, then this position is the one for you!----KEY REQUIREMENTSServe as the financial operations leader forecasting budgets, bringing fiscal insight, and developing growth strategies with leadershipDevelop and maintain a system for monitoring grant work plans, financial documentation, and budgets--Monitor grant project financial statements for appropriateness of charges and prepare journal entries and payroll correcting entries as neededPrepare grant budget data analyses on a monthly basis, reporting the information to the appropriate grant, strategizing activities based on the analyses, and documenting the review process to comply with audit and reporting requirementsPrepare required fiscal reports as requestedPrepare for federal funders, as required by the terms of the grants, post-award amendment documentation, annual budget reports, close-out reports, etc.Prepare and assist in the preparation of budget narratives and grant continuation applications.Develop administrative procedures, tools, and services to support grant activities--Develop and maintain a system for tracking staff Full-Time Equivalent and projecting payroll costs across grant projects--Coordinate quarterly staff meetings to monitor and adjust FTEs and submit requests to update FTEs to Human ResourcesServe as primary liaison for matters related to subcontract execution, accounts payable, and accounts receivableWork with subcontractors, consultants, or other outside parties to: establish and negotiate budgets and contracts; establish invoicing documentation and procedures; and define timelines for completion of work and management of project-related activitiesPosts accounts receivable customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions and depositing payments as needed; update--receivables--by monitoring and totaling unpaid invoicesManagement of payment--cycle activities in a timely and efficient manner, including: verifying, paying, and reconciling invoicesQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in business, accounting, or other degree related to area of work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired, preference is given to individuals with experience working with DHHS grants. Master's degree preferred, but not required.Five or more years of experience in business accounting, developing administrative procedures, working with grants, and preparing technical reports.Experience working with federal agencies.Must be proficient in the use Adobe Acrobat Professional and Microsoft Office; advanced skills in Excel preferableExperience managing contracts with international organizations and in foreign settings.Experience working with diverse populations in a business or higher education setting.----TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS--Valid driver's license and good driving record required for extended automobile travel in leased vehicleOccasional regional and national travel required.
